Israel's advice to fellow entrepreneurs is a powerful call to self-assessment, but not through the lens of the Fall, sin, or our failures. Second Corinthians 3:18 and James 1:22-25 invite us to take a long look in a mirror but not one that reflects our own image in our shortcomings or misalignment. Instead, the Spirit of God invites us to see ourselves through Him. This reveals to us how fractured we are, how much we compartmentalize, how much we are conditioned to adapt our persona to different environments, seeking approval and success by presenting different versions of ourselves. It's this constant shape-shifting that creates an internal tension, a conflict between the demands of business and the needs of the soul.
The solution, Israel discovered, lies in aligning with your true identity. He likens this to the difference between a bucket and a hose. A bucket, no matter how large, eventually empties, leaving you drained and in need of replenishment. But a hose, connected to a constant water source, remains full. It refills continuously, receiving as it gives. When plumbing lines get out of alignment, joints leak and pipes break. However, as soon as you get things properly aligned, everything can freely flow. When you operate from a place of true alignment with who God made you to be, your work becomes energizing, not depleting; it flows out of who you are, versus being some thing that you do.
Living from a place of alignment and empowering others to do the same is what makes Israel come alive. Whether preaching the Gospel, managing a construction project, mountain biking with his son, or snuggling up with wife, this is the essence of his superpower: unbroken union with God!
"It's the connection with our Father in Heaven, in naked and unashamed authenticity, permeating every aspect of our lives and businesses, regardless of context! That's the 'secret sauce'! 'Abide in Me, and I in you... He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing' (Jn. 15:4-5)."
Israel's sense of calling into Kingdom Factor is a testament to this value. As a coach, he leverages this journey, bringing in his love for people, his passion for disciple-making, and his burden for the marketplace, to help business leaders discover 'the abiding Life' Jesus promised. This paves the way for them to step into their own integrated identity. His mission is to empower them to face their fears, discard their lies, discover the Truth, step up in Faith, and get genuinely and deeply connected to the Source.
"The impact will follow; it's byproduct. You dig the well, you strike the fountain, and you can't stop the flow of the water! It's exhilarating!" he exclaims. "Your true value to the world around you isn't about what you can produce; it's about the glory of God that is revealed when you live from His unique design. You are the gift to your family, friends, community, and business. All the 'false-self' and 'imposter syndrome' stuff is the cheap wrapping paper and the cardboard box that has to be stripped away to get down to the goods! That's when your true value is unveiled – when this kind of internal integrity allows you to live authentically, lead powerfully, and build a legacy that reflects the image of Christ you were uniquely created to display. Paul was talking about this very thing when, in Colossians 1:27, he described the riches of the glory of this mystery: Christ in you! Dare to embark on this journey; it's the only one worth taking—every nickel...every tear...every scar."
