Unwavering Faith: Michelle Dailey on Integrity, Discernment, and Kingdom Impact

Listen to this article

In a world often driven by compromise and fleeting success, Michelle Dailey stands as a beacon of unwavering faith, discernment, and integrity. As a finance director at Children's Mercy Hospital and the founder of MAAK Brand, Michelle embodies the principles of Kingdom Factor, demonstrating how deep-rooted faith can transform both personal and professional landscapes.

Michelle's journey is a testament to the power of living out one's faith boldly. Her T-shirt business, MAAK Brand, which stands for 'Made, Accepted, and Approved by the King,' is more than just apparel; it's a ministry. Born from a desire to empower her children who faced bullying, MAAK Brand encourages youth and women to embrace their God-given identity, reminding them that their worth is not determined by external validation but by divine approval. "You don't have to have a group of people to cheer you on when you have God backing you," Michelle asserts, highlighting the profound leverage that comes from knowing one is truly 'Made, Accepted, and Approved by the King.'

Faith in Action: Balancing Boldness and Wisdom

Integrating faith into the corporate world, especially in a demanding environment like a children's hospital, requires a delicate balance. Michelle describes it as learning to be "bold in who you are" without being "too soft." Her daily practice involves prayer before meetings and before starting her day, seeking divine wisdom to guide her words and actions. "Lord, order my steps, order my tongue... give me wisdom in the things and what I say and how I say things," she prays, recognizing that tone and delivery are as crucial as the message itself. Her career trajectory, from an administrative assistant to a corporate director, is a living testament to God's promotion and faithfulness when one walks in obedience.

Uncompromising Integrity: Tested and Rewarded

Michelle's commitment to integrity was powerfully tested in a previous role. Faced with a situation where a new leader brought in family members to fill key positions, leading to questionable practices, Michelle refused to compromise her values. When asked about these practices, she spoke the truth, a decision that ultimately led to her termination. "I wasn't going to lie, I wasn't going to get for that," she states, emphasizing her refusal to falsify information or betray her integrity. This experience, though initially a setback, reinforced her conviction: "It may cost me, but I have to do what's right. I want to be right with internally, with my internal self and my integrity with God, or want to fall to the world and let y'all determine my fate? I don't. I choose God every time because I know that He's going to give me bigger and better." True to her faith, a new opportunity arose just two days later, proving that God honors those who prioritize integrity.

The Power of Discernment

Discernment plays a critical role in Michelle's life, particularly in how she allocates her time, talent, and treasure. She views her time as precious, carefully guarding it against casual commitments. "If I'm in a certain spot and I'm not feeling the vibe, and it starts switching up, I'm gonna find me an exit plan," she explains, attributing this inner prompting to the Holy Spirit. This spiritual sensitivity allows her to pause, pray, and discern whether an opportunity aligns with God's will, ensuring she invests in what truly matters.

Encouragement for Christian Leaders

Michelle's encouragement to other Christian leaders is both profound and practical: "Stand on your moral, stand on your values, no matter what the sift is." She reminds us that God prepares a table in the presence of our enemies, meaning that even amidst opposition, His provision and protection are assured. Drawing from a prophetic word she received years ago, she emphasizes that God sees us at the top, even when we see ourselves at the bottom. "If he, if it wasn't so, he wouldn't place the desire in you," she affirms, urging leaders to pursue their God-given passions with faith and action. This often requires silencing the noise of naysayers, taking sabbaticals for prayer and reflection, and trusting that God will provide the vision for the next step.

Living Love: Obedience in Action

Beyond her professional and entrepreneurial endeavors, Michelle's life is marked by extraordinary acts of love and obedience. A powerful example is her decision to travel from Oklahoma to New York to be with Dr. Cheroll, a fellow author, during her cancer surgery. This selfless act, born from a deep sense of compassion and spiritual prompting, exemplifies the true essence of 'love thy neighbor.' Michelle's presence, rather than material gifts, was the greatest treasure she could offer, demonstrating that sometimes, "your presence is necessary." This act of obedience, though costly in time and travel, was met with divine favor, as her leader granted her the time off without hesitation.

A Life of Impact

Michelle Dailey's life is a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of faith, integrity, and profound discernment. Her story challenges us to live authentically, to prioritize God's principles above worldly gain, and to trust that He will always honor our obedience, leading us to greater impact and purpose.
